Research and Partner Meeting – February 2020

This time the partner meeting of the project partners took place again at the Faculty of Sports Science in Bratislava. Besides the current tender for the new building of the CAA in Bratislava, which was launched on February 12th 2020, the next interim report and the accompanying research projects starting in the next few months were the topics.

Research and Partner Meeting – September 2019

During a one-day workshop, project staff and basic scientists from the fields of histology, electron microscopy and molecular biology as well as health scientists were able to network and exchange ideas on scientifically relevant topics in the field of ageing research and physical activity in seniors. Two smaller research projects have been proposed which will be concretized and realized within the framework of the Centre of Active Ageing in the coming months.

Partner Meeting May 2019 – St. Pölten

We were very pleased to show our colleagues from the University of Bratislava (lead partner of the project) on 24.5.2019 the new premises, which will soon be ready for the Center of Active Ageing in our institute. At the same time we had a productive partner meeting where we were able to discuss further study planning.

Network on Ageing

Our project also represented on the Austrian platform “Network on Ageing”. Further information is available at:

Information about the platform:

At the initiative of the BMWFW, the Austrian Platform for Interdisciplinary Ageing Issues / ÖPIA has assumed the role of the national „Network on Ageing – Ageing and Demographic Change as Challenge and Chance” in Austria since mid-2016. Together with all the partner organisations of this network, ÖPIA will therefore in future make even greater efforts than before to achieve systematic networking and improved interdisciplinary synergies in ageing research and on ageing issues in Austria and, for example

  • increasingly initiate formats of networking, knowledge transfer and result-oriented cooperation
  • collect the partners’ research activities and make them accessible online via a database
  • be available to interested organisations, decision-makers and experts as an independent national contact and service point on the subject (e.g. questions on calls for proposals, cooperation possibilities, available data, etc.)
